The ROADTEC™ Scooter tread design takes inspiration from the award winning ROADTEC™ 01, now featuring sipes for an effective tuning on scooter application.
This tread design has been developed to enhance mechanical traction, with a clearly perceivable benefit when accelerating and braking.
The shape and layout greatly contribute to maximize water drainage and mechanical friction, along with a strong ‘family feeling’ with the ROADTEC™ family. The footprint area includes a high quantity of grooves and edges simultaneously in contact with the road, enhancing mechanical grip, water drainage and safety feeling; It also ensures more rubber in contact with the ground, especially during mid-lean, allowing higher grip starting from the very beginning of the lean.
The front tyre features a lot of transversal grooves that grip the asphalt as single elements and increase the amount of water drained while the short oppositely oriented sipes improve stability and control when braking. The sipes contribute also to increase traction on low-friction surfaces and compound warm-up.
The rear tyre features wide grooves and long sipes with opposed orientation that combine different effects: when accelerating, the grooves enhance the traction especially on low friction surfaces and when braking, the sipes prevent lateral movements and increase stability.
